Welcome to Pembrokeshire Weathervanes by James Eifion Thomas, Blacksmith.

A selection of handmade galvanised weathervanes made to order in Pembrokeshire which are available in both traditional and modern styles.

A wind vane, weathervane, or weathercock is an instrument used for showing the direction of the wind and was invented during the second century BCE in ancient China and Greece. When the wind is sufficiently strong, the head of the arrow will indicate the direction from which the wind is blowing.

Our weathervanes are hand-made and take up to 6 weeks from point of order to delivery, allowing time for them to be galvanised to ensure they will look great and last a very long time.

Please browse our current range of weathervane tops using the links below.

There are 6 styles of weathervane base available. The bases and brackets page has an image of each base along with the cost and approximate dimensions.

Simply choose your weathervane top, base and fixing bracket and place your order using the order form below.

If you have a particular design in mind or want to personalise the vane, for example with a special date, please take a look at our commissions page for more information.
